Document Supply Service

Ensure that you check the Library's holdings before placing a request.

Requests should be made via the links below:

• Document Supply Request for Book Chapter
• Document Supply Request for Copyright Cleared material (staff only)
• Multiple requests can be made by uploading a RIS format citation file. Please use the 'Notes' field to let us know if items are required by a specific date.

Requesting a thesis
To request a British PhD thesis, please use the EThOS service in the first instance; only place an inter-library loan request if EThOS cannot supply the thesis you need.

What happens next?
Once your request has been received by the library you will receive an email confirming the details of your request. Items are usually sent out from the British Library within 3-4 working days. However, many digital delivery items are available within 24 hours. There may be delays if: 

• A book is already on loan by another user
• The BL cannot supply the material directly and another library has to be approached.
