Copyright for Teaching

Journal articles

Journal Articles
You should provide links to our subscribed e-journals – not supply the PDFs.
Linking does NOT impact on copyright. A properly formatted link will work on and off campus.

Benefits of linking to LBS subscribed journals/magazines

  • The usage data helps justify the School’s database subscriptions and gives us a view of what students are reading.
  • There are no quantity limits with linking.

Disadvantages – of supplying PDFS instead of linking

  • You can only supply one article from a single journal issue.
  • We must check annually the journal is included in the CLA licence.
  • We must attach a completed copyright cover sheet to each PDF each time the course is run.
  • We must record the details (items and courses) and report this annually to the CLA  (in order that authors and publishers receive royalties.)
