MIT Press Direct to Open E-books

 

Established in 1962, the MIT Press is a leading publisher of books and journals at the intersection of science, technology, art, social science, and design. Their Direct to Open platform provides access to the full-text of over 3,000 e-book titles. Initial collections cover economics; environmental science; philosophy; and science, technology, and society. Future collections will include: business and finance, cognitive science, game studies, neuroscience, new media and social sciences.

DRM-free: users can print, copy and paste, and download PDFs by chapter. 

Reading/Downloading MIT Press Direct titles are offered on a chapter-by-chapter basis. Each book chapter is available as a PDF. The platform has been designed with users of mobile devices in mind.

 

Accessibility

The MIT Press has entered a partnership with Bookshare, an accessible e-book platform, to provide equitable access to their titles. If a title you require is not on the Bookshare platform, they suggest requesting it via Bookshare or emailing MIT Press directly.
