Accessibility - students

Books

All students with a SORA will have the following additional library privileges:

  • Up to 20 book loans at one time.
  • Up to 10 short loan books at one time (provided it does not exceed the 20 book maximum)
  • Up to 10 book holds (reservations) at one time

If a reasonable adjustment statement requires that the student receives physical textbooks, there will be correspondence from the Programme Office, not the Library Wellbeing Services Liaison.

If you need help fetching Library materials in the Likierman Library, we can support during the hours the Enquiry Desk is open

e-Books

Our e-books guide includes details on accessibility and ‘read aloud’ options on a vendor by vendor basis. But for students that meet the definition of disabled, there is the option of receiving accessible e-books via RNIB Bookshare.

The Library Wellbeing Services Liaison will be able to create an account on RNIB Bookshare for students but we will require as much notice as possible. This is because turnaround times between RNIB Bookshare and the book publisher can vary. There is also the option of the Library Wellbeing Services Liaison contacting individual academic publishers direct to receive accessible e-books. Again, we require as much notice as possible.
