Marketline

Marketline provides global market research and also a wide range of global (downloadable) country statistics.
Go to the Statistics tab > Countries. Pick the sub-tab Data Download and then filter for country and metrics. It has for example: 

  • Net hydroelectric power generation, 
  • Coal consumption, 
  • Total greenhouse gas emissions, indexed to 1990,
  • P​​​​​ower generation from renewable sources.

Statista
Statista covers a wide range of statistics from a range of international sources. Just search by keyword. Here are some examples

  • Global climate change - statistics & facts.
  • Annual greenhouse gas emissions worldwide from 1970 to 2022
  • Annual carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions worldwide from 1940 to 2022

Global Carbon Project
Is an organisation that seeks to quantify global greenhouse gas emissions and their causes. It wast was established in 2001 by a shared partnership between the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP), the International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change (IHDP), the World Climate Research Programme (WCRP) and Diversitas. This partnership constituted the Earth Systems Science Partnership (ESSP) which subsequently evolved into Future Earth.

SDG Global Database
UN Data on more than 210 SDG indicators for countries across the globe by indicator, country, region or time period. 

World Bank - SDG data
This dataset is classified as Public under the Access to Information Classification Policy. Users inside and outside the Bank can access this dataset. Relevant indicators drawn from the World Development Indicators, reorganized according to the goals and targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These indicators may help to monitor SDGs, but they are not always the official indicators for SDG monitoring.

World Resources Institute
They supply data sets, data products and data-based tools, freely available through their commitment to open data.

Research bodies

Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy
The ESRC Centre for Climate Change Economics and Policy (CCCEP) brings together some of the world’s leading researchers on climate change economics and policy, from many different disciplines. It was established in 2008 and its third phase began on 1 October 2018. The Centre is also a member of the Place-based Climate Action Network (P-CAN), which was launched on 31 January 2019.

The Center for Climate and Security
This is a research institute focused on tackling systemic climate and ecological security risks.

Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S)
A service from the EU which provides authoritative information about the global climate and weather. Its offering is under the headings: Climate Intelligence,Climate Data Store,C3S Atlas,Data in action.

FIRES
UK FIRES is a 5-year research programme funded by £5m of UKRI support and the subscriptions of an active and growing industrial consortium. It is a collaboration of the universities of Cambridge, Oxfored, Nottingham, Bath and Imperial College London. UK FIRES is uncovering the lowest risk path to zero emissions prosperity in the UK by 2050 by: Optimizing current industrial techniques with new decision making tools; uncovering gaps in the business space to be filled in by entrepreneurship, finance and policy; extensive public engagement through innovative communication channels.


Grantham Research Institute   
Established by the LSE in 2008 to create a world-leading multidisciplinary centre for policy-relevant research and training on climate change and the environment.

The Tyndall Centre
The Tyndall Centre was founded in 2000 to conduct cutting edge, interdisciplinary research, and provide a conduit between scientists and policymakers. With nearly 200 members ranging from PhD researchers to Professors, the Tyndall Centre represents a substantial body of the UK’s climate change expertise from across the scientific, engineering, social science and economic communities.
