Accessible copies

Disability
‘a physical or mental impairment that has a ‘substantial’ and ‘longā€term’ negative effect on your ability to do normal daily activities’. See the definition. 
Copies may be made if: "The person’s disability prevents them from enjoying the work to the same degree as a person who does not have that disability."
 

Under section 31 A-F of the CDPA a copy can be made if:

  • It is made from a lawful copy, i.e. an original owned by the individual or the University.
  • A suitable accessible copy is not already commercially available.
  • The copy carries full acknowledgement of the source and a statement saying the copy has been made under the Exception.

The whole of the work may be copied if the other conditions are satisfied.
